Living Lab c/o Mitie @ the SHARD

A new experimental office on the 12th floor of The Shard in London offers a breath of fresh air … literally. Wrapped in bamboo surfaces and punctuated by living plants, facilities management company Mitie’s headquarters in London was created by local practice DaeWha Kang Design and cut and installed by Aldworth James & Bond. The biophilic project — dubbed the Living Lab at The Shard — mimics nature from its natural materials palette to the circadian lighting system linked to an astronomical clock

We supplied all the bamboo for this innovative design and think it looks amazing. If you admire the shard from the ground and you’re on the right side of the tower you can see a lovely orange glow from the 12th floor where the bamboo is featured! See various links below to features on the project!
